The PADI Assistant Instructor course
is the first portion of the PADI
Instructor Development Course (IDC),
and takes about 3 1/2 days of active
learning in addition to some independent
study.
You'll not only gain additional
experience as a PADI Professional but
you'll also start learning the PADI
System of diver education. The course
consists of:
- Knowledge development through
independent study, quizzes, lectures and
presentations
- Confined water skill review and
assessment, workshops and
presentations
- Open water workshops, rescue
assessment and candidate
presentations
The PADI Assistant Instructor (AI)
Course is the first phase of the PADI
Instructor Development Course (IDC), and
when followed by the
Open Water Scuba
Instructor course (OWSI) and successful
performance at the Instructor
Examination (IE), leads to certification
as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

What can PADI Assistant Instructors do?
|
Why should I take the PADI Instructor
Development Course at Huron Scuba?
- Huron Scuba has been recognized
three years in a row as one of the
USA's top dive centers, in large
part because of the strength of its
dive education offerings.
- Course Director David Kasper has
personally issued over 1000
certifications at all levels. He has
teaching experience at a top dive
center, in university and community
programs, as an independent instructor,
and as part of a travel program.
- Input from instructors with a
wide variety of teaching experiences
makes you better prepared to
successfully complete the Instructor
Examination (IE).
- You'll learn how to deal with real
environmental factors in the Midwestern
environment (such as colder
temperatures, lower visibility, and more
lead on your student-divers), resulting
in a more rigorous preparation for
teaching both at "inland" and tropical
locations.
- After the course and your
successful completion of an IE,
you'll be qualified to teach
worldwide.
- Huron Scuba's Teaching Team is
always looking for top quality
instructors, and those who complete
their Instructor Development at
Huron Scuba get first consideration
for openings.
- Certification Results
Guaranteed: Every Instructor
Candidate trained at Huron Scuba has
passed their Instructor Examination
(IE) on the first attempt. If you
don't, you'll get a free repeat of
the Huron Scuba IDC within 12 months
of your first one.
