PADI ReACTIVATE Class fee: $179

"Tune up" your skills with a brief review of tables, planning, and dive safety, then a pool session with practice of basic scuba skills, including buoyancy control, equipment removal & replacement, and entry/exit skills.  Private sessions available; call for pricing & scheduling

Required equipment: The use of all required equipment is included in the program cost.    Optional equipment: Personal scuba equipment.

Emergency First Reponse First Aid/CPR/AED Course Class fee: $90

Two evenings of training designed to help you respond to medical emergencies, injuries, or accidents.  Improve your readiness and ability with this fun class! Renew every 2 years.Class includes free latex gloves

DAN Oxygen Provider Course Class fee: $79

Learn when and how to provide oxygen first aid for dive accidents. Get hands-on practice with actual DAN oxygen kits in realistic scenarios.

DAN Emergency Management Provider Course Class fee: $145

Three courses in two sessions: DAN Oxygen Provider, DAN First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries, and DAN AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Provider. Current CPR training required. Includes O2, AED, and HMLI class modules

PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Workshop Class fee: $85

A fun class to get wet & perfect your buoyancy control, weighting, and trim in the water.

Reef Fish Identification Workshop Class fee: $38

Learn to identify the reef inhabitants of the Caribbean, Florida, and Bahamas. The Beginner course focuses on the 30 most common fish, while the Advanced course builds with some less common species.UAW TAP application accepted as deposit

Underwater Buddy Communications Class fee: $59

Learn underwater signals & methods of making your dives more enjoyable through clear communication. This class is a great way to laugh your way to being a great dive buddy! One text per buddy team

PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Level 1 Class fee: $149

This classroom and pool course gets you familiar with choosing, using, caring for, and shooting with a digital camera with underwater housing. Hands-on practice on dry land and in the pool emphasize the "SEA Method" - Shoot, Examine, Adjust. You'll practice the dive techniques that lead to great pictures while not being hard on the environment. You'll learn how to use manual white balance to improve color in your underwater photos. Limited digital camera rentals available ($50/day for camera/housing); rental fees may be applied towards purchase of camera from Huron Scuba within 7 days of class. Level 2 course (including advanced techniques and strobe use) offered on selected Huron Scuba group trips.

PADI Search & Recovery Specialty Class fee: $199

Have you ever dropped something in the water? Are you looking for lost treasure? The PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty course will teach you effective ways to find objects underwater and bring them to the surface. Four open water dives required.

Required equipment: One Reel w/clips and lift bag per buddy team    Optional equipment:

PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty Class fee: $179

When you're underwater, knowing where you are and where you're going comes in handy, especially if you're looking for that beautiful reef that you've heard all about. The PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course will help you become a pro at finding your way underwater. Three open water dives required.

Required equipment: Complete Scuba Equipment incl. compass w/slate    Optional equipment: Lift bags, reels, clips
Books & materials: PADI Underwater Navigator DVD and manual

PADI Wreck Diver Specialty Course Class fee: $199

Learn how to handle the potential hazards of diving around shipwrecks, as well as how to understand what you're seeing underwater. This course is offered in conjunction with our wreck diving trips, such as Tobermory, Alpena, and Lake Huron charters.

Required equipment: Personal snorkeling gear. Personal or rental scuba gear. Slate & pencil. Line reel or spool. Cutting tool. Primary & backup lights.    Optional equipment: Personal or rental drysuit.
Books & materials: PADI Wreck Diver DVD video & workbook and choose a wreck book relevant to open water dive location: 100 Best Shipwrecks (Vol 1 or 2), or Shipwrecks of the Straits of Mackinac.

PADI Equipment Specialist Course - Basic Class fee: $195

Two days of hands-on sessions with Huron Scuba's Service Manager, learning just about everything you could want to know about anything used in scuba diving - service a regulator too!

Required equipment: Personal equipment may be brought for use in hands-on workshop.    Optional equipment:
Books & materials: None (Scuba Regulator Savvy book is optional)

Equipment Specialist Class fee: $799

Two days of hands-on sessions with Huron Scuba's Service Manager, learning just about everything you could want to know about anything used in scuba diving - all at a more advanced level than the basic Equipment Specialist course!

Required equipment: Personal equipment may be brought for use in hands-on workshop.    Optional equipment:

PADI Divemaster Class fee: $899

This course includes certification as a PADI Divemaster. 40-50 hours of class & pool work plus internship.  Includes DM Materials, PADI eLearning Code and all AIR fills during training

PADI Assistant Instructor Class fee: $650

As a PADI Assistant Instructor, you'll not only gain additional experience as a PADI Professional but you'll also start learning the PADI System of diver education. Required equipment: Personal snorkeling equipment and complete scuba diving equipment. Must be personally owned, may not be rented or borrowed.    Optional equipment: Personal drysuit.

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Class fee: $795

Make an appointment to meet with Huron Scuba's owner - Brian Bondy for the complete details on becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Held right here in Michigan, this course prepares you to teach locally as well as in exciting destinations around the world. IE and Instructor Application paid directly to PADI.

Required equipment: Complete personal snorkeling and scuba equipment.    Optional equipment: Personal drysuit.
Books & materials: PADI IDC candidate kit (see website or call the shop for complete list).

DAN Instructor Qualification Course Class fee: $9999

Become certified to teach the DAN Oxygen Provider, AED Provider, and First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries Courses! Cost is based upon number of modules you want to certify to teach. Call for details.

Books & materials: DAN Instructor manuals (Core module plus manual for each module you will teach).

PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course Class fee: $249

Huron Scuba's PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course is unique, in that it provides you with the knowledge and skills to plan and make deep dives while minimizing risks and avoiding the need for staged decompression. Prereq: Advanced

Required equipment: Personal snorkeling gear. Personal or rental scuba gear & dive computer. Dive tables, slate & pencil, primary & backup lights, line reel or 100 ft safety spool, 50# lift bag, pony bottle, logbook.    Optional equipment: Personal or rental drysuit.
Books & materials: PADI Deep Diver video & manual

PADI TEC40 Class fee: $469

This course is designed to give the nitrox-certified Open Water or Advanced Open Water Diver an opportunity to improve their skills, knowledge and equipment configuration to increase their dive safety and efficiency. For those interested in technical diving, this course is also the first step in the technical training progression at Huron Scuba. Equipment, gas fills (approx. $50), dive site fees, food & lodging additional.

PADI/DSAT Mixed Gas Blender Class fee: $225

This course provides the student-diver with the skills and knowledge needed to safely handle high pressure gases, prepare oxygen enriched air and helium based mixes, and prepare equipment for up to 100% oxygen service.

Required equipment:     Optional equipment: Personal Cylinder to fill with nitrox or tri-mix (if qualified)
Books & materials: DSAT Gas Blender, NAUI Mixed Gas Blender & O2 Service Tech Manual, and Recreational Nitrox Blending Manual.
