Scuba Tune-up Refresher Class fee: $60

"Tune up" your skills with a brief review of tables, planning, and dive safety, then a pool session with practice of basic scuba skills, including buoyancy control, equipment removal & replacement, and entry/exit skills.  Private sessions available; call for pricing & scheduling

DAN Oxygen Provider Course Class fee: $75

Learn when and how to provide oxygen first aid for dive accidents. Get hands-on practice with actual DAN oxygen kits in realistic scenarios. UAW TAP Application accepted as deposit

Reef Fish Identification Workshop Class fee: $38

PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Level 1 Class fee: $95

This classroom and pool course gets you familiar with choosing, using, caring for, and shooting with a digital camera with underwater housing. Hands-on practice on dry land and in the pool emphasize the "SEA Method" - Shoot, Examine, Adjust. You'll practice the dive techniques that lead to great pictures while not being hard on the environment. You'll learn how to use manual white balance to improve color in your underwater photos. Limited digital camera rentals available ($50/day for camera/housing); rental fees may be applied towards purchase of camera from Huron Scuba within 7 days of class. Level 2 course (including advanced techniques and strobe use) offered on selected Huron Scuba group trips.

PADI Search & Recovery Specialty Class fee: $169

Have you ever dropped something in the water? Are you looking for lost treasure? The PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty course will teach you effective ways to find objects underwater and bring them to the surface. Four open water dives required.

Required equipment: One Reel w/clips and lift bag per buddy team    Optional equipment:

PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty Class fee: $169

When you're underwater, knowing where you are and where you're going comes in handy, especially if you're looking for that beautiful reef that you've heard all about. The PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course will help you become a pro at finding your way underwater. Three open water dives required.

Required equipment: Complete Scuba Equipment incl. compass w/slate    Optional equipment: Lift bags, reels, clips
Books & materials: PADI Underwater Navigator DVD ($26.99) and manual ($21.99).

PADI Wreck Diver Specialty Course Class fee: $169

Learn how to handle the potential hazards of diving around shipwrecks, as well as how to understand what you're seeing underwater. This course is offered in conjunction with our wreck diving trips, such as Tobermory, Alpena, and Lake Huron charters.

Required equipment: Personal snorkeling gear. Personal or rental scuba gear. Slate & pencil. Line reel or spool. Cutting tool. Primary & backup lights.    Optional equipment: Personal or rental drysuit.
Books & materials: PADI Wreck Diver DVD video & workbook ($45.99) and choose a wreck book relevant to open water dive location: 100 Best Shipwrecks (Vol 1 or 2), or Shipwrecks of the Straits of Mackinac.

PADI Equipment Specialist Course - Basic Class fee: $195

Two days of hands-on sessions with Huron Scuba's Course Director and Service Manager, learning just about everything you could want to know about anything used in scuba diving - service a regulator too!

Required equipment: Personal equipment may be brought for use in hands-on workshop.    Optional equipment:

Regulator Repair; Cylinder Specialist - Advanced Class fee: $695

Two days of hands-on sessions with Huron Scuba's Course Director and Service Manager, learning just about everything you could want to know about anything used in scuba diving - all at a more advanced level than the basic Equipment Specialist course! Graduates may purchase their regulator used during training at 30% off (no titanium regs)

Required equipment: Personal equipment may be brought for use in hands-on workshop.    Optional equipment:

PADI Divemaster Class fee: $525

PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course Class fee: $199

Huron Scuba's PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course is unique, in that it provides you with the knowledge and skills to plan and make deep dives while minimizing risks and avoiding the need for staged decompression. Prereq: Advanced

Required equipment: Personal snorkeling gear. Personal or rental scuba gear & dive computer. Dive tables, slate & pencil, primary & backup lights, line reel or 100 ft safety spool, 50# lift bag, pony bottle, logbook.    Optional equipment: Personal or rental drysuit.
Books & materials: PADI Deep Diver video & manual ($45.99).

PADI/DSAT Apprentice Tec Diver Class fee: $750

This course is designed to give the nitrox-certified Open Water or Advanced Open Water Diver an opportunity to improve their skills, knowledge and equipment configuration to increase their dive safety and efficiency. For those interested in technical diving, this course is also the first step in the technical training progression at Huron Scuba. Equipment, gas fills (approx. $50), dive site fees, food & lodging additional.

PADI/DSAT Mixed Gas Blender Class fee: $255

This course provides the student-diver with the skills and knowledge needed to safely handle high pressure gases, prepare oxygen enriched air and helium based mixes, and prepare equipment for up to 100% oxygen service. Gas fills for personal cylinders additional.

Required equipment: One cylinder & valve to be prepared for 100% O2 service    Optional equipment:
