Ambergris Caye, Belize, is a tropical island just south of the Mexican border. Stay at AquaMarina Suites, centrally located in San Pedro Town, one of the islands newest luxury resorts. Relax in your oceanfront suite and watch the sunrise over the largest barrier reef in the western hemisphere from your own private balcony. Spend your day diving spectacular walls and a treasure trove of reefs, swim-through, caverns and atoll lagoons that shelter a dazzling selection of corals, sponges, fish, invertebrates and marine mammals. Snorkelers can indulge their curiosity in the calm shallow waters of the fringing reefs and lagoons. Afternoons can be spent enjoying a soak in the pool or walking around town. Enjoy a warm week of fun in the sun and sand!

Accommodations:
AquaMarina Suites is centrally located in San Pedro Town on Ambergris Caye and is one of the island's newest luxury resorts. Relax in your oceanfront suite and watch the sunrise over the largest barrier reef in the western hemisphere from your private balcony. Each condominium unit is equipped with a kitchen and dining area, air conditioning, satellite TV, and balconies overlooking the clear blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Other Things To Do:
Other things to do: Try visiting the Hol Chan Marine Preserve and reserve a night for a wonderful underwater excursion and meet the most exotic nocturnal sea creatures at Hol Chan Marine Reserve. More than 160 species of fish have been identified at this rare reserve - a popular spot for night diving. For those who do not dive, and even if you have never snorkeled, the Hol Chan Reserve, Shark Ray Alley and other coral gardens can provide an equally exciting experience. Snorkel in 3 ft. of water with brightly colored parrot fish or drift over 60 ft. of Caribbean Sea outside the reef and marvel at the whole other world this marine paradise presents.

Shopping: Ambergris Caye has a handful of quaint little gift shops and street side venders that are more than willing to help you to take a little piece of paradise home with you such as woodcarvings and handmade jewelry. Birdwatching and Natural History: Crocodiles, raccoons and a vast array of birds can be seen along the lagoon or along small mangrove cayes scattered north of the island. Exploring by Land: Take a golf cart ride (rental golf carts are the most common means of island transportation) to the very end of the island (south). Then you can truthfully say that you stood at the very end of the Yucatan Peninsula. Sailing: Sailing tours can be arranged with local guides. Fishing: Whether you just want to have a little fun or you are an avid fly or sports fisherman, the right tour guide can be found on the island. Relaxing: If you're not in the mood for any strenuous activity then you find a beach towel, hammock, or lounge chair, on your balcony, on the beach or under a shady tree and enjoy the view, work on your suntan, read a book, take a nap or just do nothing.

Must Read: The next time you are in Huron Scuba, pick up Lonely Planet's Book Diving & Snorkeling - Belize, which includes its top dive and snorkel sites.
