Deep Diver Specialty

Looking For Adventure? Are you ready for the DEEP? Interested in furthering your diving skills? Want to prepare for technical diver courses? This is the course for you!

Huron Scuba’s PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course is unique, in that it provides you with the knowledge and skills to plan and make deep dives while minimizing risks and avoiding the need for staged decompression. For those interested in technical training this course is a prerequisite. The topics and practical applications range from simple review to highly technical exercises. Classroom topics include:

  • Deep diving environments
  • Diving physics & physiology related to deep diving
  • Emergency decompression procedures
  • Diving techniques, RGBM theory and the use of deep stops
  • Equipment for deep diving
  • Advanced dive planning techniques and gas management
  • Emergency procedures
  • Short and long term deep diving hazards

Once the classroom and exam are completed there is an opportunity to develop and practice new diving skills in open water. A minimum of four (4) open water dives is required. Each dive is enhanced with a detailed dive briefing and debriefing. Dive planning sheets will be completed and submitted for assessment.
