Enriched Air Nitrox

Nitrox (oxygen-enriched air) has benefits related to the fact that your body absorbs less nitrogen while diving – the big ones are reduced risk of decompression sickness or extended no-decompression time, especially on multi-day dive trips. However, it also entails risks that must be managed.

This course will teach you how to use Nitrox to improve your dives while balancing the risks and benefits. You’ll also learn valuable methods for planning your dives based on available gas supply, mix options, no-decompression time, and your personal air consumption.

This course is highly recommended for traveling divers as well as anyone who wishes to improve their dive planning.

Upcoming Classes

There are 5 upcoming sessions for this class.

September 27, 2024

This program runs from 6pm until approximately 9:30pm.

Prior to this in-person session, you should expect to spend around 2-3 hours to complete the eLearning component of this program.  The cost of the eCode is included in your course fees.  This homework must be completed prior to coming to class.

Using Enriched Air (Nitrox) is a great way to help reduce your nitrogen load while diving, which can help safely extend your allowable bottom time to maximize the enjoyment of your future dive adventures.

This is also a great way to keep working on your SCUBA training / knowledge development without the need to leave the classroom.  We have developed a very extensive program that ties together the online homework with dive planning, oxygen analyzer use, nitrox protocols used throughout the SCUBA world and some additional safety tips we think are important to understand.

If you have your own nitrox compatible dive computer, please bring it to class, we will teach you how to program it and use it for dive planning.  Don’t have your own?  No problem, we’ll have one you can use.
