Tobermory 2024

Tobermory, the Scuba Diving Capital of Canada!

Discover the best of Great Lakes shipwreck diving with us at Fathom Five National Marine Park! Home to more than 20 shipwrecks!

Immerse yourself in the underwater history of century-old shipwrecks and take in their haunting beauty. Explore this hidden world and enjoy what most divers will say is their favorite Great Lakes diving ever. It truly is an experience to remember!

We will be diving from the Proteus, a 55ft dive boat with lots of desk space, marine head, heated cabin and easy to climb dive ladders. Group booking includes space at our 6-bedroom group lodge just a few miles south of Tobermory harbour.

This trip is from August 11-14. You’ll arrive in Tobermory on the 11th and get all checked in at the dive shop and the lodge. We’ll have two full days of diving on the 12th and 13th, and a half day on the 14th, diving home that night. Expect 8-9 dives over those two and a half days.

This trip does not include food. The lodge has a fully kitchen with lots of storage and an outdoor grill. Bring whatever you need for lunches on the boat (we will not be returning to town for lunch on the 12th and 13th) and dinners at the lodge. You’re also welcome to eat at one of the restaurants in town. We will probably arrange a group dinner in town on one of the nights.

The lodge does not have linens, so plan to bring your own sheets, blankets, and pillows.

This trip does not include SCUBA equipment or tanks. You’re welcome to rent gear and tanks at the shop for the trip.

On this trip, we will be diving some wrecks beyond the 60-ft depth limit for Open Water certifications. The Advanced Open Water certification is required at a minimum, and a Deep Diver specialty would be ideal. These waters are quite chilly (40°-50° Farenheit at depth), so we also recommend diving in a dry suit. The good news is, you can sign up for an Advanced Open Water, Deep Diver, and Dry Suit certifications if you need them.
